Even though I took Art History in college and am married to an art major, I am not too impressed with most "modern art". But one of my favorite museums is the Contemporary Arts Museum here in Houston:

I enjoy a lot of the exhibits, which presumably can be described as "modern" art (or maybe "design"?), but I especially like the gift shop, which sells clever little items, some of which appeal to the engineer in me. An example is a series of windup metal critters that simply dance crazily when released. Great fun, I even used one in a short video starring an RC robot. Go here:
