The Shouted Stupid Catchphrase
Created | Updated Oct 22, 2012
There have been many attempts to find in general a key difference between men and women, some have even put forward theories, for example, the very boring, but much noted "women tend to go to the toliet in groups" this is all very wrong.
The difference between men and women is the "Shouted Stupid Catchphrase", men love them, women cannot understand/stand them.
The shouted stupid catchphrase (we'll call them SSC for short) fall into two distinct categories
A - The "group" SSC
This will usually hark back to an experience the group shared such either together or individually then discussed at great length. The key to the group SSC is that it will normally be side-splitting-ly funny to members of the group and dumbfoundly stupid to anyone else so for example if the words "Monkey lover" were instantly transmitted to everyone in the known universe simultaneously, only a small group of men in east London would be holding their sides, and writhing on the floor in the hilarity of it.
B - The "cultural" SSC
The origin of these is usually based in advertising or light entertainment. Although most people are aware of these and their origin, "fashion" will dictate whether it is then shouted back at other people or whether the person who dared to utter it, is looked at with great disdain. An example of this would be "WASSSSUP" which for the most part will create a look of scorn on other faces and/or physical violence towards yourself.
