The Waterboys

Many years ago a bolt of lightning hit a young man in Scotland and left him with a gift for making the most marvellous music. The music started off very loud and brash and the Album was "The Waterboys". The music then transformed into the "Big Music" and the Album was "A Pagan Place" Mike came on a short vacation to Ireland met a fiddler named Steve Wickham stayed five years and the "Big Music" became "Hippy Dippy Claptrap" a new sound was born than drew it's influences from the rugged Connemara coast and the Beatles, Jimmy Hendrix and traditional Irish music. The next two Albums, "This is the Sea" and "Fisherman's Blues" became legends as the sound grew and grew with every concert. The last Album of this era was the incredible "Room to Roam" that sounded like a night in a pub after hours. The band split and Mike became Mike Scott and released two super albums of himself, by himself about himself, "Bring 'em all in" and "Still Burning". Now the band is back with "Rock in a Weary Land" and a few months ago Steve rejoined the group.........the rest as they say is the future.........
