The BBC Canteen

I haven't eaten there, but I recall it was the butt of jokes for all 1970s comedians (Ronnie Corbett, particularly).

Can anyone who has sampled its delights either confirm or deny this impression?

It's a mixed bag. You have to know what you're looking for. It's generally ok, though a bit overpriced IMHO. The sandwiches are good. You choose what you want in them and they make them there and then. Oh, and curry on a Wednesday is popular too. As is 'Fish and Chips Friday'. That said, I've got a lunchbox today. smiley - smiley

It sounds like it's no longer the greasy spoon that Corbett described, then. Obviously the licence fee's too high smiley - biggrin
