Well, MCN has come and gone. And we had fun.

Not so much a trimmed down con as a built up party!

An excuse to all get together and drink! (like we need one...)

Almost a wedding reception but with no wedding!

As some people may know, Hypotheticon has been cancelled. Now some of us in Glasgow (and Munchkin) are not at all happy with this, and so we have a plan. We have booked a room in the Buchanan Hotel (185 Buchanan St, opposite the Forbidden Planet). We will have access to a bar (well, it is a hotel after all), the return of Frog Wars and other such games (maybe even enough to constitute a programme but I wouldn't hold me breath). We are not going to have a guest, or tech stuff to go wrong, or anything that might cost money.

So I hear you cry out, "what are you gibbering about ?" But some of you might be thinking "Sounds good. But, what will it cost, when will it be and what does he want us to do about it?" So for those few brave souls, the answers.

Date: September 22nd/23rd (i.e. when Hypo would have been). Running from Saturday morning to Sunday evening.

Cost: £15 a person.

Hotel rooms: £45 for a single, £70 for a twin/double. Please contact the hotel directly to book rooms.

Events we have lined up so far:

• Costume Disco. With prizes 'n all!

• May Contain Nuts - The Card Game. As not seen in any shops anywhere.

• Live-Action Lunch Money. All handbags will be LARP safe. Can’t say the same for the insults, though.

• Dr Who Wants To Be a Millionaire. Be afraid...

• Number 1 Munchkinstein Quiz. Be very afraid...

• Never Mind the Buzzcocks. Be suitably non-sober...

• Siege Weapon Building. Please try not to knock the hotel down though – our insurance doesn’t cover it.

• Frog Wars. Cry havoc and let slip the frogs of war. Or something.

• Live Action Computer Games. And where are the dead action events, I’d like to know?.
