Breeding small creatures in bottles of your own urine
Created | Updated Jan 28, 2002
Most people at some time in their lives will experience a pet, whether it's theirs or not, and will in some way relate to it.
The keeping of tropical fish is not an uncommon thing for people to do, though is somewhat moderated by the expense incurred.
There is a much cheaper and just as fullfilling hobby to be found in collecting your urine in a large glass container, such as a demijohn or corked spaghetti jar and watching in wonder as over the months a strange ecosystem appears.
At the time of writing there are four notably distinct entities living in what appears to be an epiphytic microcosm.
These are....
The Crab :- Lives mainly at the bottom and eats debris.
The SeaHorse :- Swims gently about with little flappy wings.
The Worm :- Can wiggle incessantly but often just floats.
The Jellyfish :- Very dangly and slow.
The containers are best kept in a well lit and warm area as this helps to energise the little critters and gives a nice amber glow to any living space.
Colonies seem to thrive indefinately, the author has one nearing nine years.
Novelty value can be further increased by the inclusion of some coloured pebbles.
