Of course, the problem with this kind of thing, is that you quickly end up with a mass of material, and I can see that the intention is to provide a quick introduction, rather than a rambling essay.

Anyway, all the best with this entry.

Perhaps I could put in that it has been the capital city since .... roughly a time period, or whatever?

It's good info, but yes, the 'brief' was short and sweet. smiley - biggrin

I think the final timeline could do with some padding out between the years 150 to 1665 AD, as it is rather a massive leap forward. Other important dates include:

- 1176 - work on a stone bridge across the Thames commences. (link to London Bridge)
- 1245 - Westminster Abbey begins to be rebuilt.
- 1565 - Sir Thomas Gresham founds the Royal Exchange.

Excellent! Just what I was looking for.

I will move this to PR soon, I already have two in there at the moment, and don't have time to add another one just yet. smiley - ok

I'm not really here

I had half-forgotten this, but now that Paully's put in a call for help (F150575?thread=1145986) as part of the 'region' project I'll leave this in here for a while longer.

I will do some work on it though, I've got lots of entries on the go in my head, it's just getting them down on the pc that's the hard part.

I blame autumn tv scheduling - it's my favourite time of year for tv!

Actually I've changed my mind, I've made some changes to it, and I'm moving it today.
