The Trangia camping stove

The Trangia stove is a meths stove so, unlike gas stoves, the fuel is not under pressure. This means you are unlikely to ever get an explosion, making them safer than the gas alternative. There are currently 3 basic civilian models, I do not know if they still make the military version, these are, the 25, the 27 & the 'Mini Trangia'.

Disadvantages

Fuel can be quite expensive.

Can take a long time to cook food or boil water.
