An example is a hard thing to explain. An example is basically used to show someone else how they can do the same thing but differently. An example of an example is, for example: for example: for example: for example: for example: for example: for example: for example: for example: for example: for example: for example: for example ... and ad infinitum.

Setting an example is very different. Once you have made an example you must put it in the fridge for a few hours to set. If you don't you may get food poisoning when you eat it. Adults are often asked to set an example, often for childrens' parties, where the kids might want some example and ice-cream. I am not 100% sure here; I may be getting jelly and examples mixed up, which is a bad thing to do - jelly and examples mixed together do not taste very nice. If you can set me straight on this matter, please don't.
