Sky Digital For Nothing?
Created | Updated May 27, 2003
Well...
Back in the early 1980s there were two companies:
BSB - British Satellite Broadcasting, showing Now, Galaxy, and The Movie Channel.
Sky - Showing Sky One and Sky Sports.
Then sky bought BSB out and became BSkyB.
Easy.
http://www.skyride.co.uk being a good site about the merger!
Now for your 13 quid a month you get not 3 channels, but at last count, 518. Wow.
And I have devised a way to get Sky digital for free! Yes, free... here goes...
This requires some maths, so brace yourself...
Sky digital offers a 40% saving on all phone calls to it's subscribers.
Subscribing to Sky costs £40 one off charge for equipment and installation, plus £13 a month.
£13 a month x 12 = £156. Add £40 one off charge, and the grand total for the minimum term of one year is £196.
If you spend £490 on telephone calls a year, then 40% of this is £196, and the saving would therefore pay for the one year's Sky TV.
£490 a year equates to £122.50 a quarter.
Do you spend more that £122.50 a quarter on phone calls?
If so you can get it for free.
If not you can still get a saving...

40% saving on phone calls is reliant on 140 being dialled before each call
:) Fun huh?
