Moving From the City to the Countryside

If a city person ever should move to the countryside and have never or very few times been there here is some useful tips and other helpful stuff to remember.

I will be talking about my experience on the Swiss countryside. When I was 12 years old I move from the Copenhagen area in Denmark to the Swiss countryside. I had some hard times getting use to it and that's why I decided to write this entry to anyone who has the same feeling. Remember that I will be talking about my experience so it may not be exactly like the countryside in other countries.

Around in the countryside
There is one rule a city person should remember on the countryside: watch where you’re going, you never know what you’re going to step in! Of course this is also a rule in big cites but there a more chances of stepping in something you don't really want to step in on the countryside.

A good thing about the countryside is that it's really good air (better in big cities anyway) and the views are really beautiful. Probably the best views are the ones that looks out to some mountains or big hills. When the sun shines on trees, mountains, plains and other countryside features it gives a really romantic and peaceful look.

Getting use to country life
Of course country life is much different from city life. There is not so much traffic, the people are generally much nicer and there are not so much pollution. A really peaceful ideal small village with those small churches in the middle and with about a 100 people living in it (one such as I live in) is really the sort of place you want to be in. Of course it takes some time to get use to it and also get use to the country idiots. The country idiots are young people who try to catch up with modern styles and end up hanging down at the local school, smoking and drinking beer. This is a case where a city person such as me would say "Typical!" There is a lot of stuff, which a countryside person can't catch up with and unfortunately screw up. This is one of the many things a city person has to get use to on the countryside. I won’t list all of the things here because the Guide probably wouldn't have space enough.

Places you want to be on the countryside
In a really ideal countryside with rivers, small patches of forest and mountains and hills are probably the best ones. There are always places to be all the time. In the later spring, all the summer, and early autumn there is really beautiful around the rivers and woods. In the later autumn, winter and early spring you can go skiing. Also in the summer, it’s a good time for going up on a high place and look over the countryside (trust me, it’s an experience you’ll never forget). There are hundreds of other places to go on the countryside but you have to figure it out yourself.
