The Funny Side of Bananas

Bananas are one of the most humourous fruits ever created, being the subject of much mirth and a bit weird. But why are they so funny? Well, the arguments for it are:
1. They are long and bendy (cue infantile jokes involving privates)
2. They are yellow (and anything yellow is therefore vaguely funny, like the Simpsons)
3. The skins are slippery (and are good for slapstick of the most basic kind)
4. They can be mashed up and thrown at people
5. They've got a stupid name with 'na' in it
My ideas for a genuinely funny usage of bananas are:
use one in a pythonesque dead banana sketch, wear one as a hat, tie a banana to your bottom and pretend it is a tail, pretend it is mutant, trick someone into eating it with the skin still on.
Bananas are, indeed, an interesting and very funny object.
