Do you treat your ironing board as furniture?

An ironing board makes a wonderful mess creation device.
You just place a few items on it and then you cannot collapse it to put it away. The pile increases. Soon you come round to doing ironing but rather than face the mess you create another pile. A pile of washing to be ironed.

Oh yes! We certainly do. I think it has something to do with the fact that I leave it up, hopeful that someone will get round to doing the ironing. But no one does, and it just becomes a handy flat surface to leave things on.
It's put away at the moment, we had to tidy up as we had guests to dinner

I can see my ironing board now, on it is a hair dryer, some washing (surprise) and a cat, oh and an iron.
That might make a good topic some time, "what's on your ironing board?"
