Jealousy

At the begging of the race there was very little to be envious of. All that most people possesed was a cave and a nice looking hammer. This jealousy usually would not evolve as the person with the nice looking hammer would be able to use it to crack your skull. In the modern world people are more often jealous of possesions such as a stereo or a nice looking TV set. The person owning the stereo would be unlikely to use it for violent purposes and therefore the jealous party may go and buy a nice looking crow-bar in order to get the afformentioned stereo.
An even more dangerous form of jealousy is not of possesions, but of the love of a person. This is the jealousy most people feel and this is generally a stronger feeling. This is also the feeling one can do little about as using a crow-bar in this instance would turn the persons whose love you wish to gain away from you. Due to this emotion many people have resorted to suicide, genocide and even ethinic cleansing. This causes problems for the other party involved as they do not wish to shun the person who desires their love, but to the same measure, they do not feel the same way about the other person.
Due to the above facts the authour feels that jealouy is a more dangerous emotion than hatred and when coupled with love it makes the most dangerous emotion of all. It could be more dangerous to mankind than the nuclear weapon.
