Shades of "F*****g Åmål" (that's not English profanity, but Swedish cultural expression for F*****g)
Yes, yes, YES, I loved it!

Hi, all!
I tried recommending this one, but got word back from above that the entry is too negative and not balanced enough for the edited guide.
Basically, the consensus is that even if a town really seems to suck to the author, there must be something decent about it, otherwise everyone would have packed up and left ages ago.
Possible things to think about elaborating might be:
schools, churches, community groups, parks, cutesy little shops, town history, etc.

That's a shame.
I like the entry, and I know how hard it is to write something positive about dull places as I did a little entry about the town I study in.
Even so, I can understand why the powers that be don't want to see guide entries slating places, so either this one needs to be re-written as a more neutral account of Söderköping, or it should simply remain as an unedited entry that is still accessible to the H2G2 wanderer.

Yeah, I made some updates so it would be more, ehm, objective.

A few nitpicks and comments...
: the old lock - perhaps you could tell us why it is there in a footnote or something. Sorta like "oh go on then - it's because they bought one from Nebraska, and didn't realise they needed a Canal too".
: Smultronstället - Icecream - tell me more!
: Söderköpings brunn - Restaurant Food - tell me more!
There's other stuff I might ask - what do teenagers and general youths do for fun? Do they hang round anywhere in particular (eg, where I live atm, everyone under 25 hangs round the outside of the Pizza-Bowl looking bored). Are there buses anywhere more exciting that people take?
I dunno - you've managed to say a bit more - but I do wonder if there's more you might say. What do you think?

Ok, so I made some changes. For the better? Maybe, maybe not.

Well, I think for the better - but only you can decide!
One thing I do wonder is if you might want to work a few of the footnotes back into the text - they have a tendency to interupt the flow of guide entries, I find. But that's a stylistic issue, so it's really up to you.
Excellent! I for one think this is Edited quality material - now we just have to wait for someone to pick it!

I happen to like the footnotes... But seriously, I hope, for Söderköpings sake, that it will some day become edited.
