Short Hills, NJ

For those exploring the more obscure locations along America's East Coast, there is one place that should, as a rule, be avoided. Short Hills, New Jersey, is one of the least appealing places in New Jersey, and that's saying something. This extraodinary town is populated by a bizarre race of pompous, spoiled rich upper-middle-class jerks. Do not attempt to enter this town in any car that is not an exorbidantly large SUV, or at least a luxury sedan, unless you have a thing for lynchings. They subsist on a diet composed almost entirely of Starbucks coffee, bottled water, and catered food. It resembles Beverly Hills in some respects, but without all those famous people cluttering it up. Moreover, there is basically nothing of interest there, being nothing but an indeciferable maze of houses. Don't even make the effort to approach one of these houses, or prepare to face the business end of a security system. In short, this is not an worthwhile place to visit, and I advise anyone who feels inclined to for some reason to think again.

"The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is a wholly remarkable book. It has been compiled and recompiled many times and under many different editorships. It contains contributions from countless numbers of travellers and researchers."
