If you want to take over the world... Which is better... An army of henchmen or a devastating weapon?

Now, it's clear that these two DON'T MIX.
If you look at any scenario in which an evil doctor, man, country or corporation have been defeated, they ultimately have both.
This is due to the old "better safe than sorry" idea.
None of these people (Dr. Evil, the Galactic Empire, the Trade Federation, etc.) could decide on one or the other.
Soooo...
They took both. This proved to be a dastardly decision.
Amazingly, Murray's ex-voodoo master, the Demon/Zombie/Ghost Pirate LeChuck, did not succumb to this. He created a crew of undead warriors, and was killed in The Secret of Monkey Island. In Monkey Island 2: LeChuck's Revenge, he wanted to use the power of Big Whoop to rule the Caribbean. No luck.
The Curse of Monkey Island was no better. His undead demon army was no match for Guybrush Threepwood's cunning wit.
And in Escape from Monkey Island, the Ultimate Insult could not better the power of the Monkeys.
If one can find the RIGHT weapon, or perhaps a COMPETENT army of henchmen, perhaps world domination is a possibility.
Murray and I are going to go it in a pair.
