It is a little known fact, that modern aerosols no longer contain CFCs (Chloro-Fluoro-Carbons), thus they do not deplete the ozone layer, so eventually we might still be able to get a nice even tan, without getting a melanoma.
The latest type of aerosols are propelled with Air or Nitrogen, contained in a capsule, rather like a widget in the so called "draught" beer, sold in cans.
Some Aerosols use Carbon Dioxide propellant, the best of these was a Scotch Whisky, that you could squirt down your throat, fizzy, but without being diluted down by soda.
