No, this is not to be mistaken for a woman named Catherine, or the other band Catherine Wheel...
On the minor label of TVT records an little band called Catherine was signed.
They were expected to actually come into some fame with their album Hot Saki and Bedtime Stories, yet few seem to have heard of this band due to the lack of promotion. Otherwise they had everything going for them, including guest vocals from D'arcy (of the Smashing Pumpkins fame) and other famous friends in the background.

For a band with so few records, they sure have gone through a bunch of different band members....
The band begun with Neil Jendon and Jerome Brown, who named themselves Catherine which no one is exactly sure how they came up with the name. Kerry Brown (who is not related to the other Brown) joined the group as the drummer. After releasing a single "Sparkle/Charmed" in 1991, Mark Rew joined the group as well as Kerry's brother Keith.
Jerome left the band in August of 1996.
Gussy joined the band after Hot Saki was released.
Keith left the band in August of 1997.
Fever joined the band during the recording of Hot Saki, then left in December 1997.
The band left their label TVT in December of 1997. Ended up recording music (that was never released) as an attempt to attract a new label. (It was recorded with the line up of Mark Rew as vocals, Gussy, and Kerry; basically no one the band originally started with. ) The band rumored to change their name to My Friend the Snake, but nothing has come from that, and most likely because each of the last remaining band members all went their separate ways, nothing else shall be performed under the groud Catherine. (The various members might have their own bands, but not together.)

Thus this band is a piece of trival music history. Hot Saki was the catchy, sweet album that sadly never made it big
