Here I am!
I was just trying to track down the name you thought you'd heard, not necessarily relevant to this entry.
Certainly 'normal' floaters (I have a few regulars) are more noticeable when viewing any plain pale large area - sky, blank piece of paper, PC screen, kitchen units. Wouldn't say blue sky is better to show them up, but there are less visual distractions in a clear blue sky, so I suppose you notice variations more.

Hi Teasswill,
I came to the conclusion that it was Scherer's Effect - I had just mis-remembered the name
However, as I say, I don't think it was normal f;loaters I experienced. The whole of my field of vision was
filled with transparent/translucent spheres, all teavelling in one direction like a river. I interpreted this as causing the sensation of my specs being smeared with something greasy like vaseline. But, reading the literature, these kind of floaters are perfectly normal and are just WBCs. At the time the optician was sufficiently concerned to refer me to the hospital.

Your Guide Entry has just been picked from Peer Review by one of our Scouts, and is now heading off into the Editorial Process, which ends with publication in the Edited Guide. We've therefore moved this Review Conversation out of Peer Review and to the entry itself.
If you'd like to know what happens now, check out the page on 'What Happens after your Entry has been Recommended?' at EditedGuide-Process. We hope this explains everything.
Thanks for contributing to the Edited Guide!
