A Conversation for Talking Point: Your Longest Journey

I'm not really here Started conversation Mar 7, 2009
Okay so that's not far really, only 450 miles, and I stopped overnight on the way, but I went in a tiny Bambi (A10358219) which had some sort of mechanical defect (turned out the points were closing). As I got closer and closer to Scotland the van went slower and slower and slower and it felt like I'd been driving for years.
The next time I tried to drive there in a (different) Bambi there was an electrical problem and my rear lights, including brake lights, failed, so I only got as far a Cumbria where I was having an overnight stop before I had to come home again courtesy of the AA.
The next time I went to Scotland I got a train.
