'Vintage Inns' in Essex, UK

2 Conversations

If you live in South East Essex and like pub grub you cannot do better than one of the Vintage Inns chain. This researcher can personally recommend The Hawk, Battlesbridge and The Kings Head, North Weald. The beer is (apparently) fine, there is a good selection of whiskeys, the real log fires are just made to fall asleep in front of. Best of all, the menu comprises a good selection of traditional English style food served all day, and if you like Chocolate Profiteroles then you haven’t lived until you’ve tried these - the fresh choux pastry, filled to bursting with cream, and drizzled with the most swimmingly deliciously sweet rich chocolate sauce you’ve ever tasted in your whole life, drool, drool, drool.

Sorry. The rest of the desserts are also a real treat - try it to believe it.
