Scrolling while laughing

Though it is not often discussed, scrolling while laughing is a widespread, annoying, and even embarrassing problem. The problem occors most frequently when visiting a humour site such as http://www.amused.com/. The reader is slowly scrolling down, reading the content of the page, when suddenly he reads the punchline and laughs. Generally this is a good thing, but if the reader is scrolling the entire time, then the reader's hand is still on the mouse with the button pressed down. Alright, generally this is a good thing too, but when the reader laughs, his body, including his hand, shakes, causing the mouse to move erraticly. In short, the page scolls to a random location, necessitating that the reader find where he was, which can be tedious if it happens often on a large page.
There are several solutions to this problem. One may use a mouse with a scroll wheel, which is less likely to move when one is laughing. One may also use the page down button on the keyboard. One may simply realease the mouse button after scrolling a bit.
Despite all these options, the problem persists. Is this the result of simple indifference, or is there more to this? More research must be done. So liitle has been invested into so large a problem.
