Nottage

Pleasant village near Porthcawl, South Wales coast (postcode CF36 3). Nottage village is based around a traditional village green, with surrounding suburban development mostly out of sight. A good place to go in summer to avoid the bustle of tourists in Porthcawl.

Usefully, Nottage village is within walking distance of the town of Porthcawl (10 mins) and the Rest Bay beaches (10 mins) which are popular for surfing. The village houses traditional and friendly pubs: The Farmers (good for live music), The Swan and the Rose & Crown hotel. The Rose & Crown has been Chef & Brewered which means taking down old pictures and replacing them with screwed onto the wall repro old pictures. The Rose & Crown has a reasonable restaurant and is the largest of the pubs in the village. No public toilets, so the pubs come in handy. There is a small campsite to the north of Nottage village.
