Gnomon: the non-SF fiction of Iain Banks

0 Conversations

Iain Banks was a Scottish writer of the late 20th century (and possibly early 21st if I look it up). He wrote Science Fiction under the name of Iain M. Banks with a middle initial and more mainstream fiction under the name of Iain Banks without the middle initial.

Having said that, some of his more mainstream fiction still has a touch of the Science Fiction in it.

Banks, in both his styles of fiction writes complicated stories with unexpected twists and turns. You never can be sure that you know what's going on. He also likes to include a fair amount of gore in his stories.
