You've heard the hype. You've read the reviews. So you went out and got yourself a Dan Brown book. Could have been Angels and Demons. Might have been Digital Fortress. You definitely checked out the bestselling Da Vinci Code. You found the books interesting, informative, intriguing.
Then IT HAPPENED!
He wrote about something you already knew about!
As you read his misinformation, misinterpretation, manipulation of facts, and just plain ol' blathering on a topic in which he had clearly just taken a half-baked crash course, you were overwhelmed with a feeling of annoyance, disgust, and dismay. Suddenly you realize that you cannot beleive a word he has ever written.
Yet people still chatter on about how great those books are. You wish you could inform them all about how his authoritative tone masks a broad ignorance of the topic he's discussing.
