5 second rule

0 Conversations

I just read an article in today's paper saying that the 5-second rule (eating food that's been dropped on the ground is ok, as long as its within 5 seconds) is total smeg.

Apparently, some people tested it in a laboratory environment. They'd drop a cookie on the floor then scan for dirt and bacteria, and according to the test results the damage is instant.

The bad news is that it doesn't matter how quickly you pick up that cookie, the good (yet somewhat gross) news is that it doesn't make much difference if you let it sit there 5 minutes! (not that I advise this, but its all a matter of perspective!)
