CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES
Of all the desserts in the word, none makes us think more of milk than chocolate chip cookies. Chocolate Chip Cookies, or CCCookies for short, come in all sorts of sizes and shapes. There are soft CCCookies, hard CCCookies, CCCookie bars, CCCookie cakes, CCCookies in shapes of people, CCCookies of all sorts.

Cookies first appeared in 1937
They were made by Ruth Wakefield
The place was the Toll House Inn (thus the name Toll House Chocolate Chips)
The reason Nestle owns Toll House Chips: Andrew Nestle gave Wakefield the semi-sweet chocolate found in the CCCookies.
THE POWER OF COOKIES
Cookies in general have a powerful effect on people, causing memories to resurface and a desire for a tall glass of milk to rise. Yet it has been rumored to have incredible and damn near mythological powers to transform a monster, such as this:
Into a fuzzy, blue, furry creature that teaches little kids their letters and numbers by simply placing the word cookie in front of monster. Truly amazing.
Making CCCookies!
No entry on Cookies would be complete if it did not include a recipe for CCCookies. Here is a sample recipe for them. It suggest using Toll House chips, but then again since it is from the back of the Toll House chocolate chip bag its to be assumed you are going to use those chips. Use whatever you wish. (I also took out the nuts from the recipe cuz i don't particularly care for them, but that is a personal preference. COOKIES GOOOOOD! NUTS BAAAAD! :-))
Ingredients
2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
1 cup (2 sticks, 1/2 pound) butter,
softened (melted is better than room temperature, but much harder to do... My mother is able to do this in both the microwave and the stove, but dont ask me how.)
3/4 cup granulated [white] sugar
3/4 cup packed brown sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract (you can triple this amount for a richer flavor.)
2 eggs
2 cups (12-ounce package) NESTLE TOLL HOUSE Semi-Sweet Chocolate Morsels
Milk (optional, again, my mother does it, and it works. Then again my mother is able to do insane things in the kitchen without even measuring ingredients and just judging by sight, so her recipe book is interesting to say the least.)
Steps to Making the Best CCCookies
COMBINE flour, baking soda and salt in small bowl. Beat butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar and vanilla in large mixer bowl. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition; gradually beat in flour mixture. Stir in morsels. Drop by rounded tablespoon onto ungreased baking sheets.
BAKE in preheated 375-degree [Fahrenheit] oven for 9 to 11 minutes or until golden brown. Let stand for 2 minutes; remove to wire racks to cool completely.
PAN COOKIE VARIATION: PREPARE dough as above. Spread into greased 15"x10" jelly-roll pan. Bake in preheated 75-degree [Fahrenheit] oven for 20 to 25 minutes or until golden brown. Cool in pan on wire rack.
FOR HIGH ALTITUDE BAKING (>5,200 feet): INCREASE flour to 2 1/2 cups; add 2 teaspoonfuls water with flour; reduce both granulated sugar and brown sugar to 2/3 cup each. Bake at 375 degrees Fahrenheit, drop cookies for 8 to 10 minutes and pan cookies for 17 to 19 minutes.
