Coffee

Coffee is a brownish sort of liquid consumed by many human beings on Earth. It is made from the beans of a plant, which have been harvested usually from tropical or subtropical regions. These beans are ground, commonly roasted, packaged, and then sold. The consumer can, however, purchase the beans in a roasted but not yet ground state and attempt to grind their own coffee. These ground bits of coffee are placed in a machine on a filter. Water is forced through the coffee bits and as a result, coffee drips into a sort of holding pot for the coffee, where it can be served at a convenient time.

Coffee: Why?
Coffee is usually not drank for its flavor, which is quite bitter. Some humans who do drink coffee for the taste add sweeteners and or dairy products such as cream. Coffee is usually drank because it contains caffeine, a mild stimulant. For those of you not familiar with the term, a stimulant is any substance or chemical which increases the speed of a being's systems, most notably the heart in humans. Caffeine will keep a human from falling asleep, or help him or her to wake up in the morning. A small number of humans, however, object to the absorbtion of caffeine, and purchase only coffee which has had the caffeine removed.

Flavored Coffee
Coffee is also available in a variety of flavors. These include, but are not limited to, Mocha, Irish Cream, various fruit flavors, and versions of coffee which have alcoholic beverages added to them. Coffee is usually served hot in mugs, but some flavored coffee beverages are served cold, with ice and milk. This is usually referred to as an "Ice coffee," "Iced mocha," or by a brand name of some sort such as "Frappucino."

The Price of Coffee
Coffee is occasionally considered a luxury item of sorts, and as such can be very expensive to acquire on Earth. The high price of coffee is usually blamed on bad weather, although some believe that it is a type of conspiracy.

Primary Uses of Coffee
Students that have "papers" to write for their professors quite often consume large quantities of coffee in order to resist sleep.
Many working humans drink coffee before they travel to their jobs. This is to avoid falling asleep in transit, and to stay awake once the office is reached.
Drinking multiple cups of coffee is likely to give you lots of energy.

Warnings Concerning Coffee
Coffee is usually hot. Earthling lawsuits have been filed because there have been very stupid people that did not realize this.
When coffee is mixed with alcohol, the effect is very interesting. Too much experimentation with this can cause problems.
If you want to get some rest, do not drink coffee.
