Ancient ocean

The Southern African shore aches with the beating of waves and the deep currents. The water is prussian blue, deep and uneasy with sharks and barracuda. The sun binds its heat into the water, its flame rakes the wave tops and the salt hisses back.

From this ocean the most unlikely things. The running sardines, the whales and dolphins, the depths and wrecks and myths, the blue coelacanth.

I could sail over that depth and miss you, and not know you were there.
I need the ship that will know where to find, and maybe the ship is life itself.

Be my ship.
And when life is no longer enough for me
carry me, in the burning sun, out to sea.
