Our True Family

Most of us grow up with the family we were born into, but over our lifetimes we develop relationships with others and these people become arguably more special. These people have become dubbed you "second family", and I feel that this is our true family. This group are those we choose to let into our personal lives and they are the first we go to looking for support in the hard times.
For lack of better experience I'm going to describe my true family as a way to show only some of the types of people that you let in. Hopefully you'll recognize some from your own life. Please feel free to comment and I'll try to see if I can distill them down to a set of personalities.
As a final note, I've seen these types of relationships all over the place, and I tend to simply reference them by my family.(i.e. He's like your Ryan)
Sarah: This is the love of my life. I can't believe that she's still with me after 2+ years. This is the woman I can easily spend the rest of my life with. This person is the other half of my soul, and the person who gets me best. Despite our highs and lows we're still together and I know it will never be perfect. I don't want it to be, and I don't think she does either, that would just be dull and we'd fall apart.
Ryan: This man is like a little brother, dispite the fact that he's a month older. We've been best friends since pre-school, and no matter what we will always be in each other's lives. We've both had girlfriends who have told us to get rid of each other, and they failed. He's made me more careful in life and I've helped him worry less.
Pete: This is my other best friend. I've not known him as long as Ryan but he's still one who will be around till we die. At my worst party moment he was the one who made sure I was going to make it through the night, and I'm glad I've not had to return the favour. He can be grouped with Ryan, but I feel like he deserves his own space.
The Gonadz: These are the drinking buddies. The best way to descibe these guys is to say they are the cousins and uncles you go camping with and chug beer with.
Roger: When I did youth plays this was our backstage manager. I have had the honour of performing with him and when it comes to acting I think of him as a father and always look for some sort of aproval from him. I owe him and his girlfriend Dorthy for my love of performing, and inadvertantly making me strive to perform at my best.
So please let me know more ideas that you have and when I feel this is ready I'm willing to submit it for review as I feel that our chosen families are the most important we can have in our lives.
