Personality
Despite initial impressions (feral, dangerous, anti-social) Aonghas is generally quite an up-beat person, and approaches most situations with a cheerful attitude and a spring in his step, figuring that he's lost everything so why not get the most out of life. His major downfall is that as a result of spending so much time on his own in the countryside/forests he is wary of anyone he meets until they have proven himself to him. The only time his cheerful demeanour truly falters is when he meets a Drow.
Background
Born into a small island community, life was peaceful for the young Aonghas. Although he learned basic fighting skills from his father, he rarely needed to use them and his life was mostly devoted to farming and helping in his uncle's forge. One night when Aonghas was in his teens a Drow raiding party snuck into the village and slaughtered everyone they could find, yet Aonghas somehow escaped... taking up his grandfather's war axe Aonghas flew into a berserk rage and butcher all the Drow who remained in the village.
Taking up a personal vow to combat the Drow wherever possible the first thing Aonghas did was fire up the forge and make himself a brand new war axe. For five days he worked in total isolation, finally creating a gleaming, razor-sharp weapon which he christened 'Morag' in memory of his sister who had died in the raid.
Over the years Aonghas has hunted many Drow, although a personal code of honour prevents him harming any who are helpless or otherwise at a major disadvantage (at least, this is the case when he's fully in control... when he's raging he couldn't care less). Aonghas has also become increasingly feral as a result of spending many years tracking Drow across country, although he is comfortable in towns and has no problem dealing with other humanoids (although others have difficulty dealing with him, not just because of his feral appearance but because of his impenetrable accent!) he prefers to sleep under the stars and speak to the animals.
A vertical blow to the head is his favoured method of despatching his foes (be they Drow or not) which has earned him the nickname "Skullsplitter".
