Lure of the black hole

Is there anything more powerful and disastrous than a black hole? They exist in theory as loooong mathmatical equations, but in reality they are a terrifying truth. I myself have a healthy obsession with a binary system in the constellation on Cygnus. It contains what is believed to be a black hole. Cygnus X-1. So, I, the searcher of it, destined to go my entire life looking for it.
