<p><font face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif" size="2">Nestled away in
the middle of what is otherwise known as "nowhere" by city-dwellers, is a little
piece of California, whose enigmatic origins are just that; enigmatic. This
little space called the "Mojave Desert", is the home of one of the most unremarkable
mysteries ever. </font></p>
<p><font face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif" size="2">The center of all
this hubbub was dubbed the "Mojave Desert Phone Booth" by a man named Godfrey
Daniels, who upon hearing of it's existence trekked all the way from Arizona
to see it. Soon thereafter, he posted information about the booth on his website,
(<a href="http://www.deuceofclubs.com/moj/mojave.htm">www.deuceofclubs.com</a>)
and it became an instant sensation, with the entire globe calling it, desperate
to have someone answer it. And since it's celebrity was established, countless
people have travelled out there to answer it.</font></p>
<p><font face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif" size="2"> Picture, if you
will, a lone phone booth in the middle of the blackest of nights ringing.. and
ringing.. and ringing. Surreal, no? </font></p>
<p><font face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif" size="2">This phone booth,
(since removed by the Parks Service) existed on a parcel of land, which was
literally miles away from any vestige of civilization. Why it was placed there
has been the source of much conjecture, and remains virtually unanswered to
this very day. (Many believe it to be a secret elevator for an underground government
facility; all one would need, is the correct number sequence and down you go!)
</font></p>
<p><font face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif" size="2">It's seemingly
arbitrary existence is overshadowed by the activity of risking life and limb
to travel into the middle of the desert to answer it! While researching for
the Guide, I myself travelled out there and the thing rang non stop! People
from all over the Earth called it, and seemed very happy to have someone there
answering it. </font></p>
