Children's entertainment has never been more variable than on a Saturday morning. More often than not they probably missed the mark. Here is a series that managed, probably through a mix of luck and good timing, to run for several years without being very good (something which Star Trek:Voyager has come to achieve in the last seven years).
People of a nervous disposition may not wish to refresh their memories...

Now includes a shockingly realistic images of the big robot himself (drawn by me... good with crayons, aren't I?!)

Oh, that's lovely, Apprentice. Memories!
One point to add. I believe that Mickey got his name from the producer of the show; none other than Mickey Dolenz, former drummer of The Monkees.
Deserves adoption soon (sadly my turn doesn't come round again for another 3 weeks). I bet Anna'll like it

I have to admit that I had noted down Mickey Dolenz's name in my notes when researching the piece, but I forgot to add it. I've mentioned now that he co-created, produced and directed the show. I have read anything to confirm that the character was named after him so I'll leave it at that. Thanks for pointing that out.

Hi Apprentice,

To that end, it has been approved for the process which will, a few weeks from now, result in it joining the exalted ranks of Edited Entries (you'll get an e-mail when that happens).
Congratulations, and thank you for your contribution - especially my personal favourite picture in the whole Guide!

And this is where I take over, your happy sub.
I'm working on your entry in the Subbing playground (not that it needs much work at all) at www.h2g2.com/A342875 if anyone wants to get some last minute shouting in.
I'll do my best to keep that picture in, it's great!
Cheers!
