Mankind

Since the age of unification when the puritan army of the righteous flame conquered earth, mankind has pushed itself above and beyond its greatest desires for its faith.

Hundreds of small races, that like mankind reached towards the stars with tentaive fingers were crushed under the steel clad fists of the brotherhood - the priests of a religion given over to war. Commanded by Warmasters, each of the septs of the Brotherhood is a vast and powerful fighting force consisting of well over a million soldiers and countless ships.

These crusading forces have no equal in the universe. The sheer feverent will combined with the massed numbers of humanity is one that few of the older races can deal with, and many beleive it is only a matter of time before the whole galaxy is under the rule of man.

Yet this is not the least of the galaxys problems. The Empire of man is now under the control of Emperor Jacob the 2nd, an over zealous and malevolent ruler who has caused untold suffering needlessly. It was he that conceived and constructed the first penal world, and in turn the first fanatic regiments; penal units driven into an insatiable blood lust through drugs and brainwashing.

The navy is like all things in man; successful through brute force alone. Many of the small ships sport reinforced hulls for the sole purpose of ramming enemy vessels - a tactic that is frowned upon as an act of desperation by other races.

"The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is a wholly remarkable book. It has been compiled and recompiled many times and under many different editorships. It contains contributions from countless numbers of travellers and researchers."
