Sarah palin - Hockey Mom or VP?

Is it just me or is any one else bored of Sarah Palin constantly saying "I'm a hockey mom".
Is anyone else finding that they are asking themselves the question, why is a 'hockey mom' on the verge of becomming Vice President of the United States.
I mean this is a job of immense responsibility and power, I know that she is just being glib and trying to get mindless Americanms to identify with her but you start to wonder how far this approach to politics and the job market may take us.
Is the door now open for Tom, the football father and cleaner at the local sewage plant to become an astronaut. Are the dreams of Carol (who up till now has been largely been overlooked as she carries out her duties on the check out at Walmart) to become President soon to be realised.
What I am saying is that hockey Moms are hockey Moms, they fulfill their own crucial role in society and Vice Presidents are Vice presidents who like wise have their own workload.
Can one do the job of another?
I am not so sure.
The Palin McCain ticket looks more like Marge and Homer with their terrible attempts to try and identify with middle america.
