Well, I originally came here not really caring very much how close to the end it was - just wanted enough time to grab a couple of drinks ...
Now, I hope the party has a long way to go ... but if it hasn't, how about trying one of those parallel universes you were talking about?

I found myself drifting into this party, and didn't pay much attention to the name...

Yes, parallel universes are such a consolation... And they seem to exist, people say they do...

I like those soap-bubble galaxy images - don't you think parallel universes are a bit like that too?

Mmm. Sometimes I find myself wondering about all the other "me"s out there, and what it would have been like if I hadn't moved house, or if I'd stayed in last Saturday, or if I'd answered the 'phone before it stopped ringing ..
but then again, I have to live with the "me" I've got, and let the others get on with their lives.

With a god standing above, with an oversized pin in his hand, piercing them one by one...

this event taking place in only a few of the overlapping groups...

And quite happily, imagining just how - you - their other you was doing...

A good example, I know someone who was looking for a good definition of "gassho"... always looking in the wrong places...

So she finally joined h2g2 because of this... -- strange overlapping universes.

Makes you think. Mean it makes me think.

I prefer mine to be the all-wise, all-merciful variety - you can include the all-vengeful if you must - as long as it's purposeful - I couldn't say "in'shallah" if I thought he was hooked up to a random number generator!

Might be right there, but could you resist piercing soap-bubbles if you had a sharp pin?

*On the table, puddles of spilled PGGB begin to work their way through the varnish.*

By now, GB had stopped weeping.
