How to fall asleep

0 Conversations

Have'nt you ever crumbled in bed, gripping your sweaty pillow, not lying comfortably and can't fall asleep? These are suggestions to help you, my sleepless friend.

Apart from the obvious knock in the head with a blowfish and numerous medications, try the following, and do it all at the same time:

1. Lay on your left side with your right hand under your face and your left arm along your body. Be careful NOT having your shoulder or back up on the pillow. Only your head and hand should lie there. Keep your spine and neck straight. Stay in this position, even if it gets uncomfortable. You can however put your left leg backward outside the sheet, if you prefer to belly-sleep.

2. Breathe deeply, but not in a stressful manner. Breathe as deep as it remain silent. Be careful not to make noises. If you get short of breath and have to make some noise breathing you're doing it wrong, and have to find another breathing-rhytmn.

3. Clear your mind. Sometimes I think of things that are very difficult to let go. Thoughts you've thought a million times before like your best ball-game, the day you beat the stupid kid etc. Just let your mind wander. If you've thought the thoughts a million times before, your mind will automatically wander and let it go. Don't force it back to its origin.

4. Focus on the darkness behind your closed eyes. Maybe you feel like youre becoming cross-eyed, and you are, but dont worry. Just release your tension in your eyes, and do it again. Really focus on the dark and try to find an even darker spot. If you start seeing colors, you're doing it right. IMPORTANT: don't use the muscles around your eyes! Don't force your eyes shut!

5. Don't use the muscles in your jaw either. If you need to yawn try to do it with your mouth closed, or as closed as possible.

6. If you don't fall asleep within half a hour you need to roll over and lie on your right side. Don't lie directly on your back or your stomach. Just mirror yourself. Keep your spine and neck straizzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.

PHEEW... dozed of there for a minute... This must be the most boring subject to write of!
