I originally submitted this for Peer Review on 21st/22nd September. Somehow it came out of Peer Review, so I have been advised that I need to submit it again. I am letting you know the date that I originally submitted it, in case it is possible to reduce the incubation period.

I'm happy to make any further changes necessary, any comments would be appreciated.

Thanks Slowdrive, please don't remove this from Peer Review a Scout will pick it after it's incubated (a week) and the Eds will remove the thread if they accept the recommendation, make a new version and it's that which will head for the Edited Guide

The only way it can be removed from PR (I think) is if you click the "x" or "Remove" button on the PeerReview page, that's next to your Entry, although I guess I shouldn't tell you that

I reckon it was Elton, the hootoo hampster. He's probably jealous of all th holiday snaps, and he has to just stay in his cage, going round, and round, and round, and

Something similar was also done by the fans of the webcomic Narbonic, which ran daily from 2000 to 2006 (so well before the creation of the ToyVoyagers website!) - fans could buy stuffed gerbils (based on those in the comic) and soon started letting them go on all kinds of adventures and having them visit other gerbils. One even broke the soundbarrier with a pilot who was trying to set a new land speed record on the salt flats somewhere! Another had a teeny tiny suit of chain mail made for it so it could go to a battle reenactment. Pictures of their exploits would be posted as Sunday filler material.

Dunno whether that was an influence or just parallel development, though.

A quick question - do you need me to provide a picture to go with the article? Or is this something that's done when/if it's selected for the EG?

It's done afterwards, either by the Editors at the time it becomes Edited, or a while after by the h2g2 Photographers who go round adding new photos to entries.

If you have a particularly appropriate photo, you can send it directly to the editors, but make sure:

1. That it does not include any children in it
2. That it is your own work
3. It should be 200 x 200 pixels and less than 20kB in size.

This is an excellent entry and I enjoyed reading it. Well done!

If you're very good, one of the Community Artists might take it on, too

But not every entry gets a picture.
