Maxis Inc. Is a software manufacturer specializing in simulation games. They are best known for their mega-hit "Sim City". In this game, you design, build, and act as mayor for a gleaming metropolis. There are many disasters which can befall your cities, including, but not limited to: fires, earthquakes, tornadoes, hurricanes, and alien invasions.
Other "Sim" games include:
"Sim Tower": You build and manage an office building.
"The Sims": You raise a virtual family. Considered by many to be the company's best game.
"Sim Isle": You save (or destroy) a rainforest.
"Sim Earth": You play god to a planet you create.
"Sim Ant": You run an ant colony and attempt to drive the humans from the house!
These games are both fun, and educational, and most are still available for PC.
