Basic Clarinet Maintainance

0 Conversations

ARTICLE INCOMPLETE

Whether your clarinet is wooden or plactic, it will need looking after. Nothing is better than a proper service by a professional, but in the interim you can do something yourself.

What Will You Need?

This basic maintainance can be done with very few tools- these are the essentials.
  • A small, flat headed screwdriver. This should be smaller in than the screw head so as not to cause any damage.
  • A very light oil designed for musical instruments- anything else runs the risk of damaging the instrument.
  • A pair of pliers with flat, not ridged faces.

Vocabulary

You'll need to know some key vocabulary in order to follow this article:

  • Body [of instrument]
  • Key
  • Pillar
  • Point screw
  • Rod screw
  • Crow's Foot
  • Spring
