I use blue goo, so maybe it's that...but then I thought you did too.

I do, which is why I didn't make it blue writing But I can't make it yellow either because that wouldn't show up in Brunel or *l*b*ster. I could make it the same colour as the writing above the text box

Oh dear, I don't know. I like how yellow shows up (who cares if those with the wrong skins can't see it?!) myself.

Oh and while we're getting technical (!), how does one put such a message above the PS messages box? I've never managed to do that but assume it's quite simple when you know how.

You do it with <./>GuideML-ADDTHREADINTRO</.> tag. There are a number of tags like this which put messages in different places.
