Gosho: Just thought I'd quietly drop you a line about a little thread which is scaring out some of the more frightening (I think) ethical foundations of the American world view: http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/h2g2/brunel/F19585?thread=515558&latest=1 There seems to be unanimous agreement among American posters that it is a good idea to have American soldiers shoot their comrades rather than have them taken prisoner in Iraq. The thread is based on an actual Israeli policy which has been officially stopped. I'll leave it to you to figure out whether there actually is such an American policy.
