Car
- Gosport is only minutes away from the M27, leave at junction 11 and follow the signs for the A32 to Gosport.
Ferry from Portsmouth
- The Gosport ferry runs continuously from 5:30am to midnight, 7 days a week from a landing stage adjacent to Portsmouth Harbour Rail Station.
The trip across the bustling Portsmouth Harbour takes only three minutes, and is an excellent opportunity to observe the bustling harbour.
For those late nights out over in the Portsmouth clubs, after the regular service stops, there is a late night boat, however expect to pay a lot more for this service.
Train
- The nearest railway station is Portsmouth Harbour. The station is built on pier, from which the Gosport and Isle of Wight ferries also sail from. Leave the station, and hop on the ferry to Gosport.
Coach
- National Express provide regular coach services to Portsmouth from elsewhere in the UK. For details of services, check your local travel agent.
They depart and arrive at the Hard Interchange which is immediately outside Portsmouth Harbour railway station. A short stroll from here is where the ferry can be caught.
Bus
- Fareham Railway Station, every half hour via Stubbington.
- Fareham Bus Station the service is every 8-10 minutes.
Bus services run every half hour from Southampton.

From the Isle of Wight
Wightlink operate a half-hourly foot passenger service from Ryde to Portsmouth. This fast, modern catamaran can be caught from a landing stage within Portsmouth Harbour station.
There is also a car ferry from Portsmouth to Fishbourne, which departs from Old Portsmouth and also a hovercraft service operates from Southsea to Ryde.
From the Continent
P0 and Brittany Ferries operate into Portsmouth and nearby Southampton ports. For details of sailings contact your local travel agent.
Yacht and Cruisers
Gosport has numerous marinas and clubs where visting boats are welcomed. For visitors coming by private vessel, tune into VHF channel 11 to give an idea of the shipping movements.
