sighting of big cat

My husband has told me a couple of times about seeing a large black cat in the area of our garden used to store wood and, as I hadn't seen it myself, I thought no more of it. However, today, my daughter(13 years old) came running in to tell me that she had seen a "huge" black cat in the same area of the garden. She said it was definitely a cat and it was about the size of a large alsation.It had leaped away on seeing her, but looked very closely at her before running. It was about 3pm in the afternoon. I live in West Oxfordshire.
