Bemani is a term used by Japanese game producer Konami to describe their extremely popular music and rhythm based games. Taking it's name from the first game in the family, Bemani is short for "Beat Mania" and currently includes a series of 15 indepedently manintained games as follows:

Beatmania (HipHop Mania in the US , Beat Stage in Europe)
Beatmania IIDX
Beatmania III
Dance Dance Revolution (Dancing Stage in Europe)

Guitar Freaks

Para Para Paradise (Para Para Dancing outside of Japan)

Mamba-a-go-go

Drum Mania (Percussion Freaks in Korea)

Karaoke Revolution

Dance Maniax (Dance Freaks outside of Japan)

Keyboard Mania (Keyboard Heaven outside of Japan)

Martial Beat

Pop 'n Music

Pop 'n Stage

Shamisen Brothers

All games in the Bemani series are built for arcades and entertainment centers and availablility outside of Japanese arcades is dependent upon the country in which a player desires to play. Nearly all games have also seen localized versions released on all major consoles and handhelds. Many other companies have tried to clone their own versions of the more popular games in the series with some limited success.

Articles about each independent game may be found in the Guide.
