Throwing Plastic Bottle Caps

0 Conversations

Throwing, or rather flinging, small, plastic bottle tops is one of the few arts that incorperate a large amount of skils and practice for little or no outcome (a few well-known asts like these include hyperspeed-reading and using the pogo stick). It has been used in forms of simple games, professional competitions, and has even been rumored to have once been used in a gang war, utilizing stainless steel to make a razor-edged cover used on Gatorade bottle tops.

To fling the top, curl your middle finger in towards your palm and place the bottle top, preferably one from a Gatorade bottle or other sports drink, in between the top part of your middle finger (now facing your thumb) and your thumb, which should wrap around the cap. Now, aim the best that you can, and aply pressure to the cap from your middle finger while thrusting your arm forward. The cap should slip out of your middle finger, and if the fling was good, your thumb should give the cap a slight spin as it flies forward. It may take a great deal of practice, and even a bit of toying around with the method, to produce the perfect fling.
