When an entry is picked from peer review and given to a sub-editor, a copy is made with a new A-number. Is that the A-number it will have when it finally appears in the Guide?
I want to know this so that I can offer stuff for review with links to entries not yet in the Guide, but in the editing process.
Thank you.

I'm afraid not. The final Guide Entry is copied yet again after the Editorial process and given a brand spanking new A-number. Why, I have not yet worked out.

Actually, that was utter cobblers. It _is_ copied, but only into itself. So, yes, the Sub's U-number is the one that will make the Guide.

Stop confusing matters, B!
The original version remains unedited. The copy that is made for the sub-editor is the one that enters the Edited Guide.

Finding the sub's copy's A-number, however, is non-trivial until the sub has returned it. At that point, it's easy as the subbed copy of the entry then appears on ComingUp under the 'Returned from Sub-editor' header.

Hello Rho.
Finding the entry was easy, I just used search. (There are not many people writing about Boolean Algebra.)
So, I gather that you've agreed the sub-editors number is the final one.
Thank you everyone.
