The best place to post these messages is on the scouts and subeditors yahoogroups mailing lists -- I don't even know for sure if the italics are subscribed here, whereas they would definitely be able to see and respond on yahoogroups.

The italics should come round soonish, support is subscribed to this forum after all!
Mikey is however correct that goodbyes made to the mailing group not only seem to get dealt with quicker but also inform other volunteers
Good luck with the exams and hopefully you shall be able to take up your post again at a later date.
